Business Enterprise Centres and Regional Development Boards are funded by the State and Local Government to assist South Australian businesses of all types and sizes with information, programs and networking.

Meanwhile, the Small Business Advocate and Small Business Development Council serve the interests of South Australia’s small business community.

The Small Business Advocate:

• Investigates complaints from small business and negotiates with the relevant State Government agencies on behalf of small business
•  Works to reduce the number of complaints by advising government departments and agencies on more "business friendly' approaches to small business policies, practices and procedures
  
• Represents the interests of small business by monitoring relevant government policies and legislation and offering advice on changes based on feedback.

The Small Business Development Council helps small businesses to grow and facilitates links with the South Australian Government.
