CleverGreen™ Conference & Showcase

The inaugural CleverGreen™ Conference & Showcase – South Australia’s first cleantech conference – was held on 15 and 16 February 2010.

It was presented as a collaboration on behalf of the South Australian Government through the Department of Trade and Economic Development, the Department for Environment and Heritage and Zero Waste SA.

Led by the Minister for Environment and Conservation, the event was a tremendous success, exceeding all targets for participation and affirming our State’s position as a leader in cleantech and renewables, not only across Australia but around the world.

The event was extremely well-received and generated considerable regional and national interest, bringing innovators, investors and entrepreneurs to South Australia.

The Innovators to Watch Awards held at the Conference dinner recognised South Australian companies who are driving innovation and keeping our State at the leading edge of cleantech and sustainable industry.

Product Innovator to Watch Award Winner - Aquaspy

Service Innovator to Watch Award Winner - Hames Sharley

Experts from Europe, the US and Australia spoke about innovation with a focus on securing the all-important funding, with a specialist in angel investment, Susan Preston, talking about investment trends in cleantech.  Innovation was a watchword, with panel discussions covering research, business and government.

Nobel Prize winner Distinguished Professor John Byrne emphasised the need for policy change to help drive behaviour change, something our State government is recognised for thanks to initiatives such as increased investment in renewable energy sources, water management practices and the checkout plastic bag ban.

The Showcase gave the opportunity to over 50 local companies to promote their products and services, demonstrating the depth of innovation in the State.  Around 600 delegates toured the Showcase, talking shop and exchanging business cards, a fantastic networking opportunity for our local businesses and beyond.

We welcome feedback from attendees at the CleverGreen™ Conference & Showcase.
