Small and medium-sized businesses make up more than 90 per cent of the South Australian economy – and the Department for Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy (DMITRE) is committed to helping them succeed.

DMITRE manages and oversees a range of programs, services and resources that support local businesses in becoming more productive, expanding into overseas markets, introducing innovative systems and practices, and contributing to environmental targets.

The Gateway Business Program and Innovate SA are among the initiatives in place to assist businesses and business owners identify and pursue opportunities for expansion, and access available state and Australian funding.

Through the Industry Capability Network, we also help local companies ensure they are ready and able to supply major developers with the goods and services they need to establish and operate in South Australia.

The whole-of-government website, www.sa.gov.au, is a one-stop portal for many business-related information about licences, regulations and other requirements.
